Floorscales

A floor scale is a low weighing platform for heavy goods that will not fit on a bench scale: pallets, mesh boxes, IBCs, drums or loose machine parts. The platform sits flat on the floor or is recessed into it, and the display stands separately on a column or on the wall, so nobody has to bend down to read it. In our range you will find models from a few hundred kilos to several tonnes, from brands such as Baxtran, KERN, Adam Equipment, OHAUS and Gram.

Floor scales for warehouse, production and workshop

Which model suits your situation?

The choice comes down to four things. Capacity and division: choose a capacity well above your heaviest load, but not unnecessarily high, because a larger capacity means a coarser division. If you weigh up to 3 tonnes with a division of 100 grams, you cannot expect to read to tens of grams. Platform size: a Euro pallet needs at least 1200 × 1000 mm; if your load overhangs the platform, your reading will be wrong. Material and IP rating: painted steel is fine in a dry warehouse, but in an environment that is cleaned with water you need stainless steel with IP67 or higher. IP54 is not jet-proof, however often it is suggested otherwise. Accessibility: if you drive onto the scale with a pallet truck, add access ramps or choose a recessed installation.

Verified or not?

If you use the weighed result to set a price, an invoice or a settlement with a third party, the scale must be legal for trade: it must be verified and re-verified after a repair to the weighing mechanism or a broken seal. If you weigh purely for internal checks, this is not required and a non-verified version with a calibration certificate is sufficient. If you are not sure which situation applies to you, just give us a call; it can save an expensive replacement later. We supply scales verified from the factory; the initial verification is carried out by the manufacturer and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer. More about verification and calibration.

Installation and service on site

A floor scale is only accurate if it is installed properly. We level the platform, set the corner correction and check the scale in your own premises, including recessed installation in a production floor. After that our service engineers come back for maintenance, repair and calibration. You do not need to dismantle the scale or send it away; we bring our own traceable weights.

Related categories

If you mainly weigh pallets, also take a look at our pallet scales with U-frame or weigh beams. For weighing suspended loads you need a crane scale, and for lighter products on the workbench a bench scale. If you are building your own weighing set-up, we also supply separate load cells and weighing indicators.

What you can choose from

The range runs from 6 kg to 8 tonnes. The finest readability is 100 mg. Which one you need depends on the smallest weight you still want to see: a scale that goes up to 8 tonnes reads more coarsely than one that stops at 6 kg.

Which brands

Here we carry Baxtran, Adam, Ohaus and Kern. These are brands we are a dealer for, and we are authorised by the manufacturer to repair and recalibrate their scales.

Verified or not

Of these 62 series, 40 can be supplied verified with the green M mark, 426 versions in total. You need that mark as soon as the weight determines what a customer pays. We supply scales verified from the factory; the initial verification is carried out by the manufacturer and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer. See re-verification.

Maintenance, calibration and repair

We calibrate, maintain and repair a floor scale where it stands, with the test weights that match its range - authorised by the manufacturer and with original parts. See floor scale calibration, on-site maintenance and floor scale repair, and for heavy weighbridges weighbridge verification and calibration. All in one place: scale service.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a scale from this page verified?

Some of the series here can be supplied verified, with the green M mark. This is shown for each model under "Available verified"; we supply them verified from the factory, and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer.

What weighing range do I need?

Take the heaviest item you will ever want to weigh and add the packaging or the pallet. A scale chosen with a much larger capacity reads more coarsely than necessary.

Can you also maintain the scale?

Yes. We are authorised by the manufacturer to repair and recalibrate, using original parts.
