Crane and hanging scales

When a load hangs from a hoist, crane or forklift hook, it is impractical and sometimes unsafe to set it down first in order to weigh it. That is why a crane scale hangs between the hook and the load and measures while lifting. At the other end of the spectrum are the light hanging scales for quick check weighing at goods-in, where it is about kilos rather than tonnes. Safety comes before capacity

With lifting equipment, it is not just the weighing range that counts but also the construction around it. Pay attention to the safety factor of the hook and shackle, to the CE marking, and to the fact that a crane scale becomes part of your lifting equipment and is therefore included in its periodic inspection. Also choose by reading distance: a display that you cannot read from the floor with a load at five metres high is useless. Models with a remote control or wireless display solve this. For outdoor use or a dusty environment, a sealed version is required.

Legal-for-trade weighing on the hook

The same applies on the crane: if you weigh to determine a price or an invoice, for example when receiving scrap or bulk goods, the scale must be verified. We supply verified versions from the factory; the initial verification is carried out by the manufacturer and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer. Because a crane scale is inseparable from your lifting set-up, we prefer to do our work on your premises: hanging it, checking the set-up, calibrating and maintaining it where the instrument hangs.

What you can choose from

The range runs from 5 kg to 30 tonnes. The finest readability is 5 g. Which one you need depends on the smallest weight you still want to see: a scale that goes up to 30 tonnes reads more coarsely than one that stops at 5 kg.

Verified or not

Of these 27 series, 3 can be supplied verified with the green M mark, 18 versions in total. You need that mark as soon as the weight determines what a customer pays. What weighing range do I need?

Take the heaviest item you will ever want to weigh and add the packaging or the pallet. A scale chosen with a much larger capacity reads more coarsely than necessary.

Can you also maintain the scale?

Yes. We are authorised by the manufacturer to repair and recalibrate, using original parts.
