A checkweighing scale does not weigh to write down a figure, but to judge whether a pack, a batch or a sample falls within the permitted margin. You set an upper and a lower limit; the instrument indicates with colour, sound or a signal lamp whether it is OK. That way someone can check hundreds of packs without having to read and compare a figure each time. Our range runs from 600 g to 600 kg with divisions from 0.05 g, from Baxtran, Adam Equipment and WPL Industries.
We don't just supply it, we keep it in good shape
- Installation on site (optional)We come to level it and set it up on your floor, and keep it accurate with an annual inspection and calibration.
- Verified from the factoryWe supply scales verified from the factory; the initial verification is carried out by the manufacturer, and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer.
- Calibration certificate for ISO, HACCP and GMPTraceable to standards, including the measurement uncertainty - usable in your quality system.
- Calibration to EURAMET cg-18The European guideline for non-automatic weighing instruments: linearity, repeatability and eccentricity.

Checkweighing scales: pass or fail at a glance
What to look for when choosing
The division must be finer than your tolerance. If you check to ±2 grams, a scale with 2-gram steps is useless: it cannot see the limit. Allow for a division of a fifth to a tenth of the margin. How the result is shown varies: a coloured bar on the display works at a table, but anyone standing at a distance needs an external signal lamp or a buzzer. Cleaning: in the food industry equipment is hosed down, and then stainless steel with IP67 or IP68 is the minimum — IP54 is not waterproof, however often it is suggested otherwise. Passing on the result to a filling machine or an administration system requires an output; in that case look for RS232 or Ethernet.
Verification requirement for prepackages
If you weigh to determine what goes into a pack that you sell, the rules for prepackages apply and the scale must be verified. For internal quality control that does not determine the fill quantity, a calibration certificate is sufficient. If in doubt, give us a call; it can save an expensive replacement later. We supply scales verified from the factory; the initial verification is carried out by the manufacturer and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer. More about verification and calibration.

For counting small parts, take a look at the counting scales; for ordinary weighing, see the bench scales. You can check the scale itself with check weights in the appropriate class.
What you can choose from
The range runs from 600 g to 600 kg. The finest readability is 50 mg. Which one you need depends on the smallest weight you still want to see: a scale that goes up to 600 kg reads more coarsely than one that stops at 600 g.
Which brands
Here we carry Baxtran, Adam and WPL Industries. These are brands we are a dealer for, and we are authorised by the manufacturer to repair and recalibrate their scales.
Verified or not
Of these 19 series, 12 can be supplied verified with the green M mark, 68 versions in total. You need that mark as soon as the weight determines what a customer pays. We supply scales verified from the factory; the initial verification is carried out by the manufacturer and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer. See re-verification.
Checking against a specification
If you weigh to accept or reject - too light, correct, too heavy - it is not the figure that matters but the limit. How to choose that limit, which scale interval goes with it and what you need to record is explained in checkweighing in production. For prepackages with a fixed content, read the e-mark on prepackages: it sets out the three rules such a batch must meet.
Maintenance, calibration and repair
What we sell, we also maintain. You can have a checkweighing scale calibrated with a certificate or repaired with original parts by us; if it is verified, re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer. More under scale service.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a scale from this page verified?
Some of the series here can be supplied verified, with the green M mark. This is shown for each model under "Available verified"; we supply them verified from the factory, and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer.
What weighing range do I need?
Take the heaviest item you will ever want to weigh and add the packaging or the pallet. A scale chosen with a much larger capacity reads more coarsely than necessary.
Can you also maintain the scale?
Yes. We are authorised by the manufacturer to repair and recalibrate, using original parts.
