Omschrijving
The Abbe refractometer is the classic laboratory instrument for the refractive index, and the KERN ORT 1RS is a robust, easy-to-use version of it. The range of 1.3000 to 1.7000 nD covers almost all oils, solvents, resins and polymers; Brix runs from 0 to 95 %. Reading is at 0.0005 nD (0.25 % Brix), with an accuracy of 0.0002 nD.
Unlike a hand refractometer, an Abbe refractometer measures not only liquids but also solids and pastes: a glass plate, a film or a plastic sample goes on the prism with contact liquid. The supplied digital thermometer (with battery) reads the prism temperature, so you can correct to the reference temperature; a connection for a thermostatic bath is provided.
Included: calibration block, contact liquid, screwdriver and digital thermometer. For chemical, pharmaceutical and food laboratories, plastics processing and education. ISO calibration certificate to order.
