Omschrijving

The KERN OBL is a transmitted light microscope for anyone who examines specimens every day and wants a calm, sharp image without fiddling with the illumination. The series is built around an infinity optical system with Infinity E-Plan objectives of 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x (oil); with the 10x eyepieces that gives 40x to 1000x.

The difference from a school microscope is in the condenser. The Abbe condenser (aperture 1.25) is fixed and pre-centred, with an aperture diaphragm and a field diaphragm. That lets you set up Köhler illumination without centring the condenser yourself: even light across the whole field of view and less stray light. The 3 W LED is continuously dimmable and does not get warm.

The mechanical stage holds two specimens at once and travels 76 by 52 mm; focusing is coaxial on both sides, with the fine drive in steps of 0.002 mm. The Siedentopf tube rotates through 360°.

Which version? The OBL 127 is binocular, the OBL 137 trinocular with a port for a C-mount or tablet camera. The OBL 146 (binocular) and OBL 156 (trinocular) have PH objectives 10x and 40x and a phase contrast condenser: unstained, living cells become visible without staining. Polarisation, darkfield and LED or HBO fluorescence can be added from the accessories.

Applications: microbiology, water analysis and treatment plants, breweries, entomology, education and universities. A dust cover, eyecups and a multilingual manual are included; 36 months warranty.
