Animal scales

An animal will not stand still on command, and that is exactly what makes weighing difficult: an ordinary scale keeps searching and never settles on a figure. That is why an animal scale has motion damping — it averages out the movement and holds the result. Our range runs from 15 kg for the veterinary practice to 3 tonnes for livestock farming, from Baxtran, WPL Industries and Radwag.

Animal scales: weighing what will not stand still

Practice or barn

For a practice or kennel a flat, low platform with a non-slip mat is enough; the animal must be able to step on without being lifted. For livestock a cage or railings are needed, and then the tare setting counts: it removes the weight of the cage. Stainless steel and a high IP rating are no unnecessary luxury in a barn — there is manure and there is hosing down. Rechargeable battery, because there is no socket in the field or at the back of the barn.

When verified

If animals are sold by weight — livestock that is traded or delivered — a scale that is legal for trade is required. If you weigh to monitor growth or to determine a medication dose, a calibration certificate is sufficient. We supply scales verified from the factory; the initial verification is carried out by the manufacturer and re-verification is arranged through the manufacturer. What you can choose from

The range runs from 15 kg to 300 kg. The finest readability is 5 g. Which one you need depends on the smallest weight you still want to see: a scale that goes up to 300 kg reads more coarsely than one that stops at 15 kg.

Maintenance, calibration and repair

We calibrate, maintain and repair an animal scale where it stands, with the test weights that match its range - authorised by the manufacturer and with original parts. See animal scale calibration, on-site maintenance and animal scale repair. All in one place: scale service.

Frequently asked questions

What weighing range do I need?

Take the heaviest item you will ever want to weigh and add the packaging or the pallet. A scale chosen with a much larger capacity reads more coarsely than necessary.

Can you also maintain the scale?

Yes. We are authorised by the manufacturer to repair and recalibrate, using original parts.
