How does a counting scale work?

Telweegschaal voor het tellen van producten op een weegschaal
A counting scale is an indispensable instrument for accurately determining the number of pieces of a particular product. But how exactly does it work?

In essence, a counting scale takes a small sample of around 8-10 products. Based on this sample, the scale calculates the weight per piece. However, for an even more accurate result, especially with small weights, it is recommended to use a larger number of products. For example, put together a sample of around 20 identical screws. The scale shows the total weight, and you can enter the number of screws on the scale. You can then save this information under a preset function.

When you receive an order, for example for 500 screws, you place an empty box on the scale and select the preset for the product you sampled earlier. The scale will not only show the weight, but will also display the number of screws as soon as they are placed on the scale. This saves a considerable amount of time and minimises inventory errors.

Our range includes various counting scales, among them the KERN CFS counting scale and the ADAM GBK counting scale. These counting scales are available in various versions and are suitable for industrial applications.
